Advanced Services by Mastering UMTS

SAMU project is a collaborative project approved by the RNRT (Telecommunication Research National Network) in July 99. SAMU aims at improving the services offered to the users in an UMTS mobile system. For that purpose, the following points are under investigation:

  • anticipate frequency shortage thanks to the development of intelligent resource management,
  • marry the Internet and the UMTS worlds by defining means to provide an End-to-End quality of services,
  • introduce intelligent agents to make the system autonomous and help the user finding his way in the complex landscape of (Internet) services,
  • validate the previous results by a field trials of telematic services based on IP over an UMTS radio link.

This we site provides a general description of the project, as well as the description of the contributing partners. The public deliverables are available here.
